16 Playoff Teams Are Set....

April 6, 2012 1:44 am

So, we know the 16 teams in the playoffs this year.  The only series we know right now is in the East, the Penguins vs. the Flyers.  One game scheduled on Friday night, the rest I believe are all Saturday night.  Any predictions?  Hard to do when only one series is set, but I'm expecting folks to read this over the next few days....

The Jets are back!

May 31, 2011 7:33 pm

The Winnipeg Jets are back baby!  I think this is awesome!  I just hope they keep the same name and logo.  Maybe have a second jersey and try something new.

I can't wait to see them hit the ice.

Seven teams in Canada, yesss! But why stop there?
The number seven's great an all. But why not make it eight!?

Who is the most "essential" player for the Pens?

January 11, 2011 9:32 am

I ask this not as a bashing contest but as a legitimate question.

I am not a Penguins supporter, I am not a Crosby fan and I do like Ovechkin that said the Pens are a rocking team but which of them is the lynch pin of the team?  Knee jerk reaction is of course Crosby but I do not think he is that lynch pin right now.

My vote goes to Malkin.  Why?  He steps up his play when another star goes down, is mostly consistent even when all Stars are playing, the team appears to have some difficulty when he is out of the line-up and he is becoming a better two-way player.  The Crosby-Malkin pairing makes me think of the Yzerman-Fedorov early years where they complemented each other so well but Yzerman received much more attention and praise.  Another great two-way forward here is also Staal?

I am interested in others thoughts.
